Open Access Über das dynamisch-elastische Verhalten gefüllter Kautschuk-Vulkanisate

Download Article:
Of a series of vulcanized blends of pure caoutchouc with barium sulphate and titaniumdioxyde as filler the dynamic modulus of elasticity and its loss tangent were determined at room temperature in the frequency range from 20 to 2000 c/s from bending vibrations of rodshaped samples. Concentration of filler and size of the filler particles were varied. It is found that the effectiveness of the filler in increasing the modulus depends primarily on the particle size: noticeable increase of the modulus is only achieved by filler particle diameters below about 0,5 μm.
