Sensations and Situations: A Sensorimotor Integrationist Approach
In this short paper I propose that the sensorimotor approach to perception (O'Regan and Noë, 2001a,b; Noë, 2004; O'Regan, 2011) is a tree yielding two distinct theoretical fruits. One fruit is sensorimotor reductionism. The other is sensorimotor integrationism (Noë,
2004; 2009; 2012). In this paper I try to explain what makes these fruits different.
