The Genus Corallium (Gorgonacea: Scleraxonia) in the Western North Atlantic Ocean
Two new species of precious coral, Corallium medea and C. niobe, trawled in the northern Straits of Florida, are described as the first authentic records of the genus Corallium in the tropical western Atlantic. The distribution and classification of the genus is
discussed and a key to the species now known from the Atlantic Ocean is given.
