Free Content Intertidal Erosion on the Florida Keys

Download Article:
Intense erosion of calcareous shore rocks in the coral seas produces a thoroughly honeycombed, brittle rock. Examples of this erosion on the Florida Keys are described. Physio-chemical solution of calcium carbonate is considered only of local importance in intertidal erosion. It is suggested that the activities of boring and burrowing organisms are a major factor in this erosion.
