Technical Scriptwriting: A Seminar Approach to Learning
Technical communicators must learn to use communication technology as it becomes available and practical for our work. A technical scriptwriting course offers the skills to exploit the video and multimedia capabilities of new technologies. More importantly, such a course encourages
technical communication students to reevaluate ethical, design, and creative issues in the face of an unfamiliar medium and future applications. The authors offer a technical scriptwriting course design that develops a repertoire of skills that are useful in several media and discuss the results
of implementing that design.
