Twentieth Anniversary Times Two: Gifts for Our Readers

IT MAY BE UNUSUAL, BUT NEONATAL NETWORK^® IS GOING to celebrate two 20th anniversaries. The first 20th anniversary is next month. Just twenty years ago in October of 1981, the very first issue of Neonatal Network:^® The Newsletter for Neonatal Nurses appeared. "Networking" was the hot topic of the day, and as we quoted at the time from the book, Networking,¹ "It's building a community of working women across professional and occupational lines....It's helping each other to become more effective in the work world—with more clout, more money, more know-how, more self-confidence....It's giving help, too, serving as a resource for other women." Our goal in starting the newsletter was simple, and was simply stated: "By working together we can improve patient care and our own satisfaction as professional nurses."
