Objective: Exploring and analyzing the efficacy of a combined treatment of acupuncture and rehabilitation therapy, in improving elbow joint dysfunction, post upper-limb fracture surgery, and studying its impact on patients' quality of life. Methods: Comparing statistically clinical efficacy and post operative rehabilitation treatment in elbow joint function between two groups. Results: The experimental group, as compared to the control group, marked higher scores on all tests including Mayo Elbow Performance Score (MEPS) and Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire (PSQ-18). The hospital-stay span and the time for elbow joint function to normalize were also shorter than taken by the control group. However, the experimental group scored lower in the Quality of Life 30-Item Questionnaire (QoL-30) scale than that of the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture and rehabilitation therapy, when provided in combination to the patients in case of elbow joint dysfunction post upper-limb fracture surgery, received numerous benefits in terms of efficacy, significant improvement in functional recovery, pain relief, and a notable enhancement in patients' quality of life. This finding provides a theoretical framework to promote the application of combined treatment methods in clinical practice.
