Binding energies of nuclei are calculated in the mass region 900 ≤ A < 1000. The calculations are performed using the modified Rost interaction which suggests that a new island of stability exists at the Z = 282 shell. Enhanced stability occurs in the doubly closed X 282 926 664 system.
