Ein entscheidender Faktor bei der nachhaltigen Transformation der Mobilität und der konsequenten Umsetzung lokaler Maßnahmen zur Verkehrswende ist die gesellschaftliche Akzeptanz. Denn die Verkehrswende lässt sich nur gemeinsam als Gesellschaft bewältigen und setzt die Überwindung gewohnter Verhaltensmuster voraus. Das erfordert eine Veränderungsbereitschaft und einen breiten gesellschaftlichen Diskurs. Der Bürgerrat Gemeinsame Verkehrswende in Stadt und Land der Begleitforschung Nachhaltige Mobilität befruchtet diesen mit neuen Impulsen.
