Ein neuer Trend macht sich bemerkbar: Dank ,,urbaner Produktion“ wird die Stadt wieder Produktionsort für innovative und digitale Güter. Was Vorteile wie kulturelle Vielfalt und soziale Stabilität verspricht, kann aber auch zu Konflikten führen, wenn sich die tradierte Aufteilung des Stadtraums in Gebiete für Wohnen, Konsum, Industrie, Verkehr und Freizeit allmählich auflöst und sich Nutzungen stärker mischen. Die Sozial-ökologische Forschung ist gefragt, hier nach Lösungen zu suchen.
