Wirtschaften im einklang mit der natur gilt als königsweg für eine nachhaltige entwicklung. eine gegenposition vertreten us-amerikanische wissenschaftler(innen) in ihrem Ökomodernen manifest: nicht die versöhnung zwischen mensch und umwelt sei geboten, sondern deren räumliche trennung. technischer fortschritt ermögliche, die menschen auf einer immer kleineren fläche zu versorgen. die frei werdenden gebiete könnten der natur zurückgegeben werden. damit setzt der Ökomodernismus alles auf eine karte: den technischen fortschritt. das birgt gefahren.

  • GAIA is a peer-reviewed inter- and transdisciplinary journal for scientists and other interested parties concerned with the causes and analyses of environmental and sustainability problems and their solutions.
