Jedermann kennt Prüfungssituationen aus seiner eigenen Schul- und Studienzeit. Gewisse hinterlassen eine Spur von Kuriosität, Tragik oder Absurdität und sind deshalb beliebter Stoff für vielerlei Anektoten. Leider bleiben Diskussionen um die Qualität von Prüfungen auch in Fachgremien häufig auf dieser anektotischen Ebene stehen. Im Rahmen der Qualitäts-kontrolle der Ausbildung in Umweltnaturwissenschaften hat die Unterrichts-kommission des Departements deshalb beschlossen, das gesamte Prüfungswesen genauer zu durchleuchten. Dabei sollten Antworten unter anderem auf folgende Fragen gefunden werden: Können die Dozentinnen und Dozenten die Anforderungen, welche an “gute” und faire Prüfungen gestellt werden, erfüllen? Garantieren die Prüfungen eine Selektion nach den Ausbildungszielen? Wie weit stellen Unterricht und Prüfung eine didaktische Einheit dar?
