Distribution of Alternaria species among sections. 3. Sections Infectoriae and Pseudoalternaria

Morphological examination of material conforming to the morphological description of Alternaria sect. Infectoriae (but not phylogenetically characterized) allowed the inclusion of nine additional species in this section, which thus encompasses 34 species. Alternaria sect. Pseudoalternaria consists of two species and one misidentified isolate that represents a novel taxon, described here as Alternaria parvicaespitosa. Emended descriptions of A. sect. Infectoriae and A. sect. Pseudoalternaria are presented, and their species are listed.
