Neopaxillus (Agaricomycotina, Basidiomycota) was formerly placed in the Paxillaceae (Boletales) by Singer. Herein we provide additional evidence that the genus is referable to the Crepidotaceae (Agaricales) and a redescription of N. echinospermus from recently collected material.
