Drechslerella hainanensis sp. nov., isolated from soil sampled from Wuzhi Mountain, Hainan Province, China, is described. The new species, placed in Drechslerella because it forms constricting rings in the presence of nematodes, is characterized by unbranched conidiophores and 0–2-septate subcylindric–ellipsoidal macroconidia. The morphological and phylogenetic differences between D. hainanensis and similar species are discussed.
