This research article discusses how film can be used to connect the narrative of the Hebrews of ancient Israel to students in the modern classroom. Since the social sciences classroom often tells the stories of narratives, film proves to be an effective and engaging activity that allows students to gain more understanding and critically analyze the topic at hand. Since the idea of relevancy also plagues history classrooms, this article aims to focus on the overarching themes of the Ancient Israel narrative for students to compare conflict in contemporary societies to ones that also affected the ancient world.
