Alternative Learning Approaches in an Emerging Economy: An Experience in Shenzhen, China
This study addresses two theoretical perspectives of adult education, on-the-job training and workplace self-directed learning in the fast-changing workplace found in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, China. Firstly, what induces a large demand for learning in the workplace of an emerging economy? Secondly, what and how do adults learn and what enables them to continue to learn?
