A study was conducted to monitor the changes in colour, size, weight and moisture content of both fruits and seeds of Melia dubia at monthly intervals for a period of 14 months. Although dry weight reached the maximum at 11 months after flowering (MAF), germination percentage continued to increase up to 14 MAF. Seeds reached a moisture content of 11.03% at 12 MAF, revealing the orthodox behaviour of Melia dubia seeds. It can be concluded that, seeds of Melia dubia require 11-12 months to attain mass maturity, at which time the fruits become greenish yellow with black patches. However, the fruits remained hanging on the tree up to 14 MAF, with no further significant reduction in fruit or seed moisture content. Therefore, seeds with high quality can be collected from the trees at 14 MAF.
