Modelling of seed weight changes during seed development in different genotypes of Vicia faba L.
Seed fresh and dry changes during seed development in plants of six different gene bank accessions belonging to two botanical types (major and minor) and two control varieties (Aguadulce and Vesuvio) of Vicia faba L. were studied. A three-parameter mathematical
function could effectively describe the seed weight changes, facilitating an objective criteria for discrimination between the botanical types within V. faba.
