L'Irlande est une destination tant mythique que réelle dans la littérature de voyage de langue française du XXe siècle. L'intention de cet article est moins de débusquer les pièges de la platitude que de comprendre les mécanismes de construction de l'image d'un pays dans le récit d'un voyageur donné. L'analyse se penche donc sur les rapports écriture/voyage plutôt que sur les inévitables insuffisances documentaires.
