In an interesting article, Augustos Bayonas suggests that Protagoras' endorsement of political equality is likely to lead to the questioning of the theoretical foundations of slavery. This article argues that Protagoras does provide some premises from which slavery may be questioned, but that these premises are actually the result of his legal positivism, not his theory of equality.
