In the treatment of tension headache and migraine, NSAIDs and non-acid analgesics like paracetamol show a more benign tolerability profile compared to the gold standard of migraine therapy, sumatriptan, and can reach a comparable efficacy (combination of aspirin and paracetamol with caffeine > ibuprofen 600 mg). While headaches can be well treated in self-medication, pain intensity, resistance to treatment, and accompanying symptoms can necessitate advice by a physician.

NSAR und nichtsaure Analgetika wie Paracetamol zeigen bei der Behandlung von Spannungskopfschmerz und Migräne gegenüber dem Goldstandard der Migränetherapie ,Sumatriptan' eine bessere Verträglichkeit und zum Teil eine vergleichbare Wirksamkeit (coffeinhaltige Kombination mit Acetylsalicylsäure und Paracetamol > Ibuprofen 600 mg). Kopfschmerzen sind gut in der Selbstmedikation zu behandeln, können aber, abhängig von Schmerzintensität, Behandlungserfolg und Begleitsymptomatik, auch ärztliche Abklärung erfordern.
