The key question throughout the book has been “How is CSR viewed now and is there a future for it as a concept?” As the title of the book insists, CSR and sustainability issues are moving towards the mainstream of company and non-private institutions. It has become generally accepted that companies that have CSR as part of their business strategy are more successful than others. CSR is not simply a cost but an investment. There is also agreement that companies need a longer-term CSR strategy and the question is not about profits itself but how you make your profits.
