Rosh Engineering has been operating since 1981 and is a small family-run business with 30 staff. Rosh survives by being lean, flexible and innovative in its services to the large energy companies. Building upon the founder's experience in the transformer industry since the 1950s, Rosh Engineering has been involved in the extension of life and efficiency improvement of high-voltage equipment developing and promoting techniques for more than 30 years. Always keen to extol the benefits of retaining and improving equipment, Rosh Engineering now has a reputation for quality engineering with an emphasis on repair and re-use rather than retire and replace (see Appendix 1: Recycling Report).

Few changes have come to the principles of power transformers in the last 100 years. It is a metal box that does nothing but hum to most people and may appear boring to some. Paint it grey and run some electricity through it and the picture is complete. But without these grey boxes on every street corner and with bigger ones in substations around the world, the lights would go out and our 21st-century lifestyle would collapse. But Rosh Engineering can do exciting things with these grey boxes that hum.
