IT IS THE ATTITUDES AND DAILY ACTIONS of every individual in the business that add up to corporate culture. To create a culture of integrity, tone from the top is crucial but not sufficient – raising awareness and ensuring that personal and organisational values are aligned are also vital. ‘Saying “we have tone from the top and zero tolerance” means nothing to anybody unless you’re specific about what that means’, affirms TeliaSonera’s Michaela Ahlberg. ‘Change doesn’t happen just by giving information – people need to feel it comes from them. Effective E&C training tells people what is required, raises awareness about why it matters and empowers them to make the right choices by showing them how.
