Wide Phononic Band Gaps in the Yablonovite Structure with Spheres
In this study, we have numerically examined a 3D structure which was inspired from the well-known Yablonovite structure with the addition of spheres. The calculations were computationally executed by using the Finite Difference Time Domain method. The present structure was investigated for diff erent types of materials. Furthermore, we researched how the changing of the radius both in rods and spheres affected its performance. The results clearly signify that the structure gave wide phononic band gaps, significantly wider than most of the other structures studied in the field of phononic crystals.
