This article investigates the resonance variation of porous layer backed with other acoustic layer. The Biot's model is used to calculate the complex wave numbers of the two compressional waves propagating in porous materials at normal incidence and the surface impedances of double-layer structures are predicted by the transfer matrix method (TMM). Cases of the porous layer backed with air layer and other porous layers are discussed.
