Uncertainty of Approximation of the Yearly Average Sound Level of the Road Traffic Noise
Approximation of the yearly average sound level and its uncertainty are calculated. The methods require either noise measurements or vehicle- and wind speed measurements. In the former case, hourly average sound levels can be used. Two emission classes (freely flowing- and congested traffic) and four propagation classes (unfavourable-, neutral-, favourable-, and very favourable) are considered. The traffic noise emission is based on the Japanese and French models of noise emission by a single road vehicle. Definition of the meteorological class applies the wind speed component perpendicular to the road axis.
