Open Access Acoustic Radiation Force and Streaming Caused by Non-Periodic Acoustic Source

Five eigenvectors of a linear thermoviscous flow over a homogeneous background are derived for the quasi-plane geometry of the flow. The corresponding projectors are calculated and applied to get nonlinear evolution equations of interacting vortical and acoustic modes. The equation of streaming caused by an arbitrary acoustic wave is studied in detail. The correspondence to the known results on streaming launched by a periodic source is traced. The radiation acoustic force and streaming are calculated for a mono-polar source.
