Open Access Psychoacoustics Education in the Benelux

Download Article:
Psychoacoustics is taught both at universities and professional schools in The Netherlands and in Belgium, but always as part of some broader education or training program. The most prominent of these programs and their relations to psychoacoustics are medical studies (audiology), architecture (noise effects, concert halls), and language studies (speech perception). Several other interesting combinations occur. A special case worth mentioning is an Advanced Acoustics course offered annually by the Dutch (NAG) and Belgian (ABAV) acoustical societies in which psychoacoustics is an integral and essential part of a concentrated training in electroacoustics, architectural acoustics, or noise control engineering.
