The numerical code PARSEC of French-German Research Institute of Saint Louis (ISL) is a Field Panel Method applied to the prediction of the flow field around helicopter rotors in hover. It solves the non linear equation of the velocity potential with an integral method. The Kirchhoff's formula on the blade surfaces is used to solve the linear part of the equation whereas the non linearities of the flow are taken into account in an integral on the volume surrounding the blades. The wake geometry is obtained by downstream displacement accumulation of the mesh nodes of the wake. The code allows both aerodynamic and acoustic computations. Computed results are compared with measurements carried out on the ISL rotor rig and, apart from delocalized flow cases, a fair agreement is found.

Le code de calcul d'aérodynamique PARSEC, développé à l'Institut franco-allemand de recherches de Saint-Louis (ISL), est une application de la méthode des singularités au calcul de l'écoulement autour de rotors d'hélicoptéres en régime transsonique stationnaire. Il est fondé sur une formulation intégrale qui permet la résolution de l'équation compléte non linéaire du potentiel de vitesse. La partie linéaire est traitée par la formule de Kirchhoff appliquée à la surface des pales, et les non-linéarités de l'écoulement sont prises en compte par une intégrale sur le volume entourant les pales. Le sillage est mis en équilibre par accumulation vers l'aval des déplacements des noeuds du maillage du sillage. Cette méthode permet de traiter simultanément l'aérodynamique et l'acoustique des rotors d'hélicoptères. Les résultats obtenus par le calcul sont comparés à des mesures réalisées au banc rotor de l'ISL. L'accord obtenu est trés satisfaisant en l'absence de délocalisation.
