Open Access Generalized Debye Series Expansion: Part II, Treatment of Eccentric Fluid-Solid Cylindrical Interfaces

We extend the construction of the Generalized Debye Series Expansion (GDSE) given for concentric fluid-solid cylindrical interfaces to the case of eccentric fluid-solid cylindrical interfaces. The GDSE construction is based on the use of the simple and double cylindrical reflection and refraction coefficients introduced in part I of the paper and on the use of the Graf addition theorem. The scattering operator and the characteristic equation corresponding to non-concentric elastic shells are calculated with the use of the GDSE in order to obtain an exact solution for the acoustic scattering problem. The GDSE is then applied to more complicated structures involving several eccentric fluid-elastic solid interfaces.
