In the present work, a piezoelectric transducer is studied for thermoacoustic imaging. We first present generalities on thermoacoustic imaging. Then a modelisation of the behaviour of the piezoelectric ceramic in the external environment is proposed. After we have verificated experimentally the indirect effect and we have compared the performances of PZT with PVDF, we use a piezoelectric transducer which resonate in the frequency bandwidth 0–100 kHz to achieve depth imagery.

Cette étude présente la mise en oeuvre d'un capteur piézo-életrique pour l'imagerie thermoacoustique. Aprés avoir présenté le principe général de l'imagerie thermoacoustique, une modélisation du comportement de la céramique piézo-électrique en présence de son environnement extérieur est propsée. La vérification expérimentale de l'effet indirect et la comparaison des performances entre le PZT et la PVDF sont effectuées. Un capteur piézo-électrique compact résonnant entre 0 et 100 kHz est utilisé pour la réalisation d'images en profondeur.
