Open Access Scattering of an Obliquely Incident Plane Acoustic Wave by a Circular Cylindrical Shell. Results of Computations

The problem of the scattering of an obliquely incident plane acoustic wave by a circular cylindrical shell is considered. The form functions, the frequencies and the widths of modal resonances, and the phase velocities of peripheral waves are computed over a broad frequency range and the influence of the incidence angle on them is investigated. With the increasing of the incidence angle, the structure of the form function changes qualitatively. Only the sharp transitions caused by resonances with high Q factor can be observed on the form function curve at large incidence angles.
