Cavitation Inception Noise from Stationary and Rotating Rods and Correspondence to Model Propeller Cavitation Noise

This paper presents the results of noise measurements and observations of stationary and rotating roils, as well as a model propeller at cavitation inception. The analysis of the noise spectra show that there is a good correspondence between the cavitation noise generated by the model propeller and corresponding rotating rod. While there are similarities in the cavitation noise generated by the stationary and rotating rods, the caviliition inception conditions and patterns are different. [(is shown that the cavitation noise spectra can be scaled for rods of different sizes.


In dieser Arbeit werden Ergebnisse von Geräuschmessungen und Beobachtungen beim Kavitationseinsatz an stationären und rotierenden Stäben ebenso wie an Modellpropellern vorgestellt. Die Untersuchung der Geräuschspektren zeigt, daß es eine deutliche Übereinstimmung zwischen dem Kavitationsgeräusch von einem Modellpropeller und dem entsprechenden rotierenden Stab gibt. Während es Ähnlichkeiten im Kavitationsgeräusch von stationären und rotierenden Stäben gibt, sind die Bedingungen des Kavitationseinsatzes und des Kavitationsfeldes unterschiedlich. Es wird gezeigt, daß die Spektren des Kavitationsgeräusches für Stäbe verschiedener Größe skaliert werden kännen.


Cet article présente les résultats de mesures du bruit produit è l'apparition de la cavitation par des arbres stationnaires et en rotation, et par un modèle d'hélice. L'analyse des specters montre que la correspondance est bonne entre les deux types de bruits. Bien qu'il y ait des similarités entre les bruits de cavitation des arbres stationnaires et tournants, les conditions d'introduction de la cavitation et leurs répartitions sont différentes. On montre que les spectres de bruits de cavitation peuvent être transposés a des arbres de différentes dimensions.
