A Model for the Sound Energy Distribution in Work Spaces Based on the Combination of Direct and Diffuse Sound Fields

This paper is concerned with the applicability of a model based on the combination of direct and diffuse sound fields for the calculation of the stationary sound energy distribution in closed working spaces. Different model derivation methods are indicated, concentrating on the image sound source method. The analysis of these derivations results in a definition of the limitations of the model. The theoretical conclusions are experimentally tested in 54 real rooms. Statistical processing of the measured and calculated results provides limits for the application of the model in question.

Diese Arbeit betrifft die Anwendbarkeit eines Modells kombinierter direkter und diffuser Schallfelder auf die Berechnung der stationären Schallenergieverteilung in geschlossenen Arbeitsräumen. Es werden verschiedene Ableitungen angegeben, die vor allem auf der Spiegel-schallquellenmethode beruhen. Die Untersuchung dieser Ableitungen läßt die Beschränkungen dieses Modells erkennen. Die theoretischen Ergebnisse werden experimentell in 54 realen Räumen getestet. Die statistische Auswertung der gemessenen und berechneten Ergebnisse zeigt die Grenzen für die Anwendung des betrachteten Modells auf.

On explore les applications possibles d'un modèle reposant sur la combinaison des champs acoustiques directs et diffusés en vue de calculer la partie stationnaire de la distribution de l'énergie sonore dans des locaux industriels fermés. On indique diverses méthodes d'etablissement du modèle en insistant surtout sur la méthode des images des sources sonores. On aboutit ainsi à une definition du modèle et de ses limites. Les conclusions théoriques obtenues ont été vérifiees expérimentalement dans 54 locaux réels. Un traitement statistique des résultats mesurés et calculés fournit les limites d'application du modèle.
