Numerical Results to the Theory of Baffle-Type Silencers

Special formulations are derived for the case of incident plane duct modes of the general analysis for the sound fields in baffle type silencers presented in [1]. A further specialisation leads to a theory for a lined duct section of finite length in a rigid duct. Numerical examples are given for the transmission loss through baffle type silencers with different incident duct modes, and the contributions of the propagation loss and of the reflection losses to the total transmission loss are demonstrated. Field representations of the sound pressure level in front of, within and behind the silencer illustrate internal reflections, mode coupling and near fields.


Eine Spezialisierung wird vorgenommen der in [1] hergeleiteten allgemeinen Theorie für Schallfelder in Kulissen-Schalldämpfern für den Sonderfall einer einfallenden ebenen Welle als Grundmode des vorgeschalteten schallharten Kanals. Eine weitere Spezialisierung führt zu einer Theorie eines absorbierenden Kanalabschnitts endlicher Länge in einem ansonsten schallharten Kanal. Numerische Beispiele werden gezeigt für die Durchgangsdämpfung durch Kulissen-Schalldämpfer bei verschiedenen einfallenden Kanalmoden und für die Beiträge der Ausbreitungsdämpfung sowie der Reflexionsdämpfungen zur gesamten Durchgangsdämpfung. Darstellungen der Feldverteilung des Schalldruckpegels vor, in und hinter dem Schalldämpfer illustrieren innere Reflexionen, Moden-Kopplungen und Nahfelder.


A partir d'une théorie générate des silencieux à baffles qui avait fait l'objet d'un article antérieur, on a développé des formules spéciales pour le cas où l'onde incidente est plane ou composée de modes plans ainsi que pour le cas où le silencieux est fait d'une section absorbante de longueur finie insérée dans un canal á paroi parfaitement rigide. On présente des exemples numériques de calcul pour les pertes de transmission avec des modes incidents différents et pour les contributions respectives de la propagation et de la réflexion. Des cartes des champs de niveau sonore devant le silencieux, ainsi que dedans et derrière, illustrent les rôles respectifs des réflexions internes, des couplages modaux et des effets de proximité.
