Chladni und Ottmer – ein frühes Beispiel für die Zusammenarbeit von Akustiker und Architekt

In 1825 the architect Carl Theodor Ottmer presented his construction drawings for the building of Singakademie in Berlin (today Maxim Gorki Theater) to the acoustician Chladni. The physicist expressed his opinion on the expected acoustics. Chladni was again present at a test concert in 1827 and estimated the acoustical qualities of the new hall. The opinions of Chladni and Ottmer on room acoustics are analyzed and the examination of the acoustics of the original hall of Singakademie is attempted.

1825 zeigte der Architekt Carl Theodor Ottmer seine Pläne für den Bau der Singakademie in Berlin (heute Maxim Gorki Theater) dem Akustiker Chladni. Dieser äußerte sich über die zu erwartende Hörsamkeit. Bei einem Probekonzert 1827 war Chladni wieder anwesend und gab eine Einschätzung der raumakustischen Qualitäten des neuen Raumes. Die Anschauungen Chladnis und Ottmers über Raumakustik werden untersucht, und es wird versucht, den ursprünglichen Saal der Singakademie akustisch zu begutachten.

En 1825 l'architecte Carl Theodor Ottmer présentait à l'acousticien Ernst Chladni ses plans pour la construction de la Singakademie (Académie de Chant) de Berlin, devenue actuellement le Théatre Maxim Gorki, et le physician lui exprima ses pronostics concernant les qualités acoustiques de la future salle. En 1827, à l'occasion d'un concert d'essai, Chladni était encore présent pour une nouvelle estimation acoustique de la salle récemment achevée. On expose et analyse les idées de Chladni et d'Ottmer sur l'acoustique des salles et on tente de reconstituer les données acoustiques de la salle originale de la Singakademie.
