Changes of the Properties of Surface Acoustic Waves in Deuterated Crystals of the DADP type

The paper deals with the influence of isotopic effects occurring during the deuterization of the ADP type crystals on all the basic parameters determining a surface acoustic wave. The investigations comprised ADA, DADA, ADP, DADP crystals in the paraelectric phase with a symmetry of 42 m. The results of numerical calculations of the changes concerning the velocity, the decay constants, the amplitudes of partial waves and the profiles of decay of the components of SAW amplitudes with the depth are presented. In the cases of wave propagation in the basic planes (001) and (100) of these crystals the calculated values of the velocity and amplitude of SAW were compared with the results of measurements carried out by means of an acousto-optic method.


Die Arbeit behandelt den Einfluß des Isotopeneffekts bei der Deuterierung von ADP-artigen Kristallen auf alle Parameter, die für die akustischen Oberflächenwellen (SAW) maßgebend sind. Die Untersuchungen umfaßten ADA-, DADA-, ADP- und DADP-Kristalle in parelektrischer Phase mit der Symmetrie 42 m. Es werden die Ergebnisse numerischer berechnungen von Änderungen der Geschwindigkeit, der Ablenkkonstanten, der Amplituden von Partialwellen und der Abklingprofile der einzelnen Komponenten der SAW-Amplituden mit der Tiefe vorgestellt. Für den Fall der Wellenausbreitung in den Grundebenen (001) und (100) dieser Kristalle wurden die berechneten Werte der Geschwindigkeit und Amplitude der Oberflächenwellen mit den Ergebnissen von Messungen verglichen, die mit Hilfe einer akusto-optischen Methode ausgeführt wurden.


On a étudié l'effet isotopique résultant de la substitution d'un atome d'hydrogène par un atome de deutérium dans des cristaux de type ADP (Adenosine DiPhosphate ou «acide adénosine diphosphorique»). Cet effet se répercute sur tous les paramètres qui caractérisent la propagation des ondes acoustiques de surface le long des différents plans cristallins. Les recherches ont porté sur les cristaux de types ADA, DADA, ADP et DADP en phase para-électrique et avec la symétrie cristalline 42 m. On a effectué le calcul numérique des changements concernant la célérité, les constantes d'amortissement, les amplitudes des ondes partielles et les profils de l'atténuation des différentes composantes des ondes de surface en fonction de la profondeur. L'expérimentation a porté sur la propagation de long des surfaces cristallines fondamentales (001) et (100). Les valeurs calculées pour les célérités acoustiques et les amplitudes des ondes de surface ont été comparées avec les résultats expérimentaux obtenus au moyen d'une méthode acousto-optique.
