The Influence of Isotopic Effects on the Propagation of Acoustic Bulk and Surface Waves in Antiferroelectric Crystals with a Tetragonal Structure

The paper deals with the influence of isotopic effects on the properties of bulk and surface acoustic waves propagating in antiferroelectric crystals with tetragonal structure. The investigations comprised deuterium ammonium dihydrogen arsenate crystals as well as deuterium ammonium dihydrogen phosphate ones. Theoretical calculations of the propagation of such waves in the planes (001) and (100) of crystals were carried out. These calculations were compared with the results of measurements taken by means of acousto-optic methods.


Die Arbeit befaßt sich mit dem Einfluß von Isotopeneffekten auf die Ausbreitung von Volumund Oberflächenwellen in antiferroelektrischen Kristallen mit tetragonaler Struktur. Die Untersuchungen betrafen deuterierte Kristalle von Ammoniumdihydrogenarsenat und Ammoniumdihydrogenphosphat. Es wurden theoretische Berechnungen der Ausbreitung solcher Wellen in der 001- und der 100-Ebene ausgeführt. Diese Berechnungen wurden mit Meßergebnissen verglichen, die mit akustooptischen Methoden erhalten wurden.


On a recherché l'influence d'effets isotopiques sur les propriétés des ondes acoustiques de volume et de surface se propageant dans des cristaux antiferroélectriques à structure tétragonale. Les cristaux examinés sont des variétés deutériées de l'arséniate d'ammonium dihydrogéné et du phosphate d'ammonium dihydrogéné. On a effectué le calcul théorique de la propagation des ondes acoustiques de volume et de surface dans les plans (001) et (100) de ces cristaux et comparé les résultats ainsi obtenus avec des résultats expérimentaux fournis par les techniques acousto-optiques.
