The Efficiency of Sound Transmitters with Cylindrically Formed PVDF Films as Active Element

The electroacoustic efficiency of a sound transducer is a very important parameter for the judgement of its practical application. The efficiency achievable by a transmitter consisting of a cylindrical PVDF element has been investigated. The first results will be presented.


Der elektroakustische Wirkungsgrad eines Schallwandlers ist ein sehr wichtiger Parameter für die Beurteilung seiner praktischen Anwendungsmöglichkeiten. Es wurde der von einem Schallsender erreichte Wirkungsgrad untersucht, der aus einem zylindrischen PVDF-Element besteht. Erste Resultate werden mitgeteilt.


Le rendement de conversion électro-acoustique est un paramètre très important pour apprécier les possibilités d'applications pratiques d'un transducteur acoustique. On présente ici les premiers résultats relatifs à un émetteur composé d'un cylindre creux de plastique PVDF.
