La transmission ultrasonore par un milieu stratifié à triple épaisseur avec pertes

Using the electrical line theory, we analyse the normal incidence acoustical transmission through a triple-layer medium (glass-plastic-glass), including the effect of attenuation, in the 0·5 to 4 MHz interval. The experimental results agree with the computed values by introducing a measured attenuation coefficient which varies as f 0·7 in this interval. It is a remarkable fact that the total thickness of the triple layer at maximum transmission frequency is less than one fourth of a wave length in glass. It is also observed that at a given frequency, transmission is nearly 100% for widely varying angles of incidence.


Au moyen de la théorie des lignes, nous analysons la transmission acoustique à incidence normale par un milieu stratifié à trois épaisseurs (verre-plastique-verre) en tenant compte de l'atténuation, dans l'intervalle 0,5 … 4 MHz. Les résultats expérimentaux sont en accord avec la théorie, en admettant un coefficient d'atténuation qui varie comme f 0,7 dans l'intervalle. Un fait remarquable est qu'à la première fréquence de transmission maximale, l'épaisseur du stratifié est inférieure au quart de la longueur d'onde dans le verre. On constat.e de plus qu'à une fréquence déterminée, la transmission est voisine de 100% pour une gamme étendue d'angles d'incidence.


Mit Hilfe einer Strahlentheorie wird die Schallübertragung in einem dreifach geschichteten Medium (Glas-Kunststoff-Glas) bei senkrechtem Schalleinfall und unter Berücksichtigung der Dämpfung im Intervall von 0,5 bis 4 MHz untersucht. Die experimentellen Ergebnisse stimmen mit der Theorie überein, wenn man einen Dämpfungskoeffizienten annimmt, der sich im betrachteten Intervall gemäß f 0,7 ändert. Es ist bemerkenswert, daß bei der ersten Frequenz maximaler Übertragung die Dicke der Schicht kleiner als eine viertel Wellenlänge in Glas ist. Es wurde weiterhin festgestellt, daß einer bestimmten Frequenz nahezu hundertprozentige Übertragung für einen breiten Bereich der Einfallswinkel auftritt.
