By means of an array of acoustic emitters with suitable amplitude and phase control for the elements, arbitrary horizontal directivities can, in principle, be obtained. For some technical applications, in particular, a directivity index as uniform as possible is of interest. Besides a theoretical treatment of the radiation problem including the power of the arrays, half the paper deals with a description of methods for the determination of suitable control sequences x(n). An example is used to explain the results obtained by means of various control sequences. Some measured directivities of a loudspeaker array are given.

Zusammenfassung

Mit Hilfe akustischer Sendezeilen lassen sich durch Amplituden- und Phasensteuerung der Elemente im Prinzip beliebige Horizontal-Richtwirkungen einstellen. Bei einigen technischen Anwendungen interessiert insbesondere ein möglichst gleichmäßiges Richtungsmaß. Neben einer theoretischen Betrachtung des Abstrahlproblems, bei der auch Leistungsbetrachtungen enthalten sind, besteht etwa die Hälfte der Arbeit in einer Schilderung von Methoden zur Ermittlung geeigneter Steuerfolgen x(n). An einem Beispiel werden die Konsequenzen bei der Verwendung der verschiedenen Steuerfolgen deutlich gemacht. Einige anhand einer Lautsprecherzeile gemessene Richtwirkungen werden wiedergegeben.

Une commande en amplitude et en phase de chaque é1ément d'un réseau linéaire permet en principe d'obtenir un diagramme de rayonnement horizontal arbitraire. Le cas particulier de l'omnidirectionnalité est spécialement intéressant pour certaines applications techniques. L'article commence par des considérations théoriques sur le problème du rayonnement des antennes acoustiques et de leur rendement. Puis il développe les méthodes permettant de déterminer des suites de commande x(n) appropriées. Un exemple est traité en détail et explicite les conséquences de l'emploi des diverses suites de commande disponibles. Pour finir on présente les directivés effectivement mesurées à partir d'une file de haut-parleurs.
