The acoustic radiation force measurement is one of the most important methods of investigating ultrasonic fields in fluids. Besides its immediate purpose of determining the ultrasonic power, it often serves as a means of calibrating other measurement methods and as the ultimate basis for the quantitative evaluation of ultrasonic fields. This paper presents a com prehensive discussion of various aspects of the radiation force measurement, based on experi mental and theoretical research at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt during recent years.

Die Schallstrahlungskraft-Messung gehört zu den wichtigsten Meßverfahren bei der Unter suchung von Ultraschallfeldern in fluiden Medien. Sie dient neben dem unmittelbaren Zweck der Bestimmung der Ultraschall-Leistung auch häufig der Kalibrierung anderer Meßverfahren und bildet oft das entscheidende Fundament zur quantitativen Charakterisierung von Ultraschall feldern. Der vorliegende Artikel diskutiert umfassend die experimentellen und theoretischen Aspekte der Schallstrahlungskraft-Messung, basierend auf Arbeiten, die in den letzten Jahren in der Physikalisch-Technischen Bundesanstalt auf diesem Gebiet durchgeführt wurden.

La mesure de la pression de radiation est une des méthodes les plus importantes pour étudier les champs d'ultrasons dans les fluides. A côté de son application évidente à la détermination de la puissance ultrasonore, elle sert fréquemment à l'étalonnage d'autres méthodes de mesure et constitue souvent la base mètrologique décisive pour l'évaluation quantitative des champs d'ultrasons. On présente ici une discussion d'ensemble des divers aspects, théoriques aussi bien qu'expérimentaux, de la métrologie des forces exercées par la pression de radiation acoustique, à la lumière des travaux effectués durant ces dernières années à l'Institut Fédéral de Physique Technique (P.T.B.) de Braunschweig.
