Model Studies of Acoustic Propagation Over Finite Impedance Ground

A scale modelling technique is described, which is capable of predicting sound levels following propagation over flat ground of finite impedance. Experimental model data has been compared favourably to both outdoor measurements, obtained in a neutral atmosphere or at short ranges, and to theory with flow resistivity as the parameter.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird eine Modelltechnik beschrieben, mit der Vorhersagen über Schallpegel bei Ausbreitung über ebenem Boden mit endlicher Impedanz gemacht werden können. Die experimentellen Modelldaten lassen sich gut mit Außenmessungen in neutraler Atmosphäre oder über geringe Entfernungen vergleichen, ebenso aber auch mit einer Theorie, bei welcher der Strömungswiderstand als Parameter auftritt.

On décrit une technique de modélisation d'échelle qui est capable de prédire les niveaux sonores après propagation du son par dessus un sol plat d'impédance finie. Les résultats fournis par le modèle expérimental déduit de cette technique se comparent favorablement aux mesures effectuées en plein air, soit en atmosphère neutre soit sur courtes distances, et également aux résultats théoriques obtenus en prenant comme paramètre la résistivité à l'écoulement.
