Intracochlear sound pressure measurements in guinea pigs and results deduced from Peterson and Bogert's one dimensional model (1950) are in good agreement.

Thus the cochlear mechanisms can be described in an adequate way for frequencies which are below and beyond the resonant frequency of a given point by the aforementioned model.

The analysis of the results measured in guinea pigs on the basis of this model allows the input signal of the cochlea to be determined in an accurate way as a function of an acoustic stimulus delivered in front of the tympanic membrane. Moreover some specific characteristics of the travelling wave can be evaluated.


Les mesures de pression acoustique intracochléaire réalisées chez le cobaye, et les résultats fournis par un modèle unidimensionnel proposé par Peterson et Bogert en 1950 sont en très bon accord.

Le fonctionnement de la cochlée est donc correctement décrit, du moins pour les fréquences inférieures à la fréquence de résonance d'un point donné par ce modèle.

L'interprétation des mesures réalisées chez le cobaye à partir de ce modèle permet de déterminer de façon précise le signal d'entrée de la cochlée en fonction d'un signal acoustique donné devant le tympan et de déterminer certaines caractéristiques de l'onde propagée.


Messungen des akustischen Drucks in der Cochlea von Meerschweinchen sowie Ergebnisse aus einem von Peterson und Bogert im Jahre 1950 vorgeschlagenen eindimensionalen Modell weisen eine sehr gute Übereinstimmung auf.

Die cochleare Funktion kann somit zutreffend beschrieben werden, und zwar zumindest für Frequenzen, die unter der Resonanzfrequenz eines durch dieses Modell gegebenen Punktes liegen.

Die Deutung der am Meerschweinchen auf der Grundlage dieses Modells erzielten Meßergebnisse gestattet nicht nur die genaue Ermittlung des Eingangssignals der Cochlea in Abhängigkeit von einem akustischen Signal, das vor der Cochlea ausgelöst wird, sondern auch die Erfassung bestimmter Kennwerte der sich ausbreitenden Druckwelle.
