Ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Wortbetonung zur Sprachsynthese

The synthesis of speech exists as set out in written tents of unlimited vocabulary, but there is the need for a procedure in the phonetic translation of the written word for placing the point for deriving accentuation and this has led to the creation of an algorithm which is presented here.

The method is based on words of German origin but could also include a goodnumber of words of foreign origin since special possibilities are provided for the accentuated parts of such words. The adaptation of the algorithm to the speech synthesiser has been attained by means of a simple sub-programme permitting the transposition of word accent in steps of tone height.

Zusammenfassung

Für Sprach-Ausgabesysteme mit unbegrenztem Wortschatz werden neben Verfahren zur Umsetzung von Text in Lautschrift auch solche zur Erzeugung der Betonung benötigt. Wir beschreiben im folgenden einen Algorithmus zur Bestimmung der Wortbetonung.

Das Verfahren ist auf Wörter deutschen Ursprungs abgestimmt, akzentuiert aber auch einen großen Teil der fremdstämmigen Wörter fehlerfrei, weil spezielle Möglichkeiten zur Identifizierung fremdstämmiger betonter Wortteile vorgesehen sind. Die Anpassung des Algorithmus an einen Sprachsynthetisator mit Hilfe eines einfachen Verfahrens zur Umsetzung des Wortakzents in Tonhöhenstufen wird dargestellt.

La synthèse de la parole à partir de textes écrits à vocabulaire illimité exige, en plus de la traduction phonétique des mots écrits, la mise au point d'un procédé pour la création de l'accentuation, tâche qui a conduit à la création de l'algorithme présenté ici.

Le procédé a été mis au point pour les mots d'origine germanique, mais il parvient à accentuer sans fautes bon nombre des mots d'origine étrangère à cause de la précaution qui avait été prise de prévoir des éventualités spéciales concernant l'identification des éléments accentués d'origine étrangère dans les mots composés. L'adaptation de l'algorithme à un synthétiseur de parole a été effectué à l'aide d'un sous-programme simple permettant la traduction de l'accent des mots en échelons de hauteur tonale.
