The effect of non-simultaneous loudness-reduction of a masker on a test signal is investigated. The extent of this non-simultaneous suppression effect is measured for impulse sequences of different signals. It appears that the extent of the non-simultaneous loudness-reduction can be fully interpreted by a shift of the non-simultaneous masking threshold caused by forward and backward masking.

The influence of the non-simultaneous loudness-reduction on the results of pulsation-threshold measurements is investigated. The difference between the pulsation threshold with and without correcting the influence of the non-simultaneous loudness-reduction is between 0 and 3 dB but in extreme situations can amount to 5 dB.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird der Effekt der nichtsimultanen Lautheitsdrosselung zwischen einem Maskier- und einem Testsignal untersucht. Das Ausmaß dieses nichtsimultanen UnterdrückungsefFekts wird für Impulsfolgen verschiedener Signale bestimmt. Es zeigte sich, daß das Ausmaß der nichtsimultanen Lautheitsdrosselung vollständig durch die Verschiebung der nichtsimultanen Mithörschwellen infolge Vor- und Nachverdeckung gedeutet werden kann.

Der Einfluß der nichtsimultanen Lautheitsdrosselung auf das Ergebnis von Pulsationsschwel-lenmessungen wird untersucht. Der Unterschied zwischen der Lage der Pulsationsschwelle mit und ohne Korrektur des Einflusses der nichtsimultanen Lautheitsdrosselung beläuft sich auf ca. 0 bis 3 dB, kann im Extremfall jedoch bis zu ca. 5 dB betragen.

On étudie les effets de réduction non simultanée de la sonie entre un signal de test et un mas-queur. L'importance de l'effet de réduction non simultanée a été mesurée pour des suites d'impulsions de différentes formes. On a trouvé que cette réduction s'explique entièrement par le déplacement du seuil de masquage décalé à la suite d'un recouvrement avancé ou retardé.

En ce qui concerne l'influence sur les résultats des mesures de seuils impulsionnels, on a trouvé que l'écart entre la position du seuil pulsationnel avec et sans correction de l'influence de la réduction non simultanée de sonie se situe habituellement entre 0 et 3 dB, mais peut s'élever exceptionnellement jusqu'à 5 dB.
