Noise Sources in Open, Turbulent, Pre-Mixed Flames
The mechanisms by which combustion noise is generated are not completely understood but this paper develops a simple theory for the contribution to the flame noise by fluctuations in the combustible mixture flow velocity for open, turbulent, pre-mixed gaseous flames. The results of
the analysis are explained experimentally using correlation methods, and their application to various problems outlined.
