A Study of Basilar Membrane Vibrations III. The Basilar Membrane Frequency Response Curve in the Living Guinea Pig
The frequency response curve of the basilar membrane was measured in the living guinea pig with fuzziness-detection. Low frequency slopes of the order of 10 and high frequency slopes of the order of 100 dB per octave were obtained. Frequency response curves were also measured at successive days after the death of the animal in order to demonstrate the continuous changes of the curves with time.
